IDC Czech Republic Presents First Future Enterprise Awards

Prague — The Czech National Museum, an auto manufacturer, a hospital, and a regional police agency were the winners of the first Future Enterprise Awards presented by International Data Corporation (IDC) in the Czech Republic.

The prizes honor technological innovations that help companies boost their digital maturity and improve economic outcomes. IDC has presented the awards in more than 30 countries worldwide since 2017.

The Czech winners were chosen in cooperation with IDC partners Dell Technologies, Vodafone, and the Czech business newspaper Hospodářské noviny, with support also provided by Direct People, Digiskills, and Československá obchodní banka (ČSOB).

The Czech National Museum, an institution founded in 1818, received the Best in Future of Connectedness award for its National Museum in Your Pocket interactive app for visitors.

The Best in Future of Digital Infrastructure prize was awarded to Škoda Auto for its Direct Quality Feedback innovation that has helped improve production line processes.

In the Digital Leader of the Year category, which recognizes managers for introducing digital innovations, the winner was Antonín Hlavinka, Deputy Director for Information Technology at the Faculty Hospital in the city of Olomouc.

The Regional Directorate of Police of the Central Bohemian Region was awarded the Special Impact Award for its digital service assistance to local residents.

The winners of the first three categories have been invited to attend the IDC Summit in Singapore on October 31, 2023. The conference will also pay tribute to winners of IDC’s Asia/Pacific Future Enterprise Awards.

Dana Vaníčková, IDC CEE Associate Vice President, Events, said that in addition to recognizing innovation, the Future Enterprise Awards aim to encourage digital development in the Czech Republic.

“According to our surveys, today approximately one-third of global company turnover is generated from digital products and services,” said Vaníčková. “In four years, this should globally be more than 40%. However, based on our local data, only 7% of companies and organizations in the Czech Republic feel fully digitalized. In Western Europe, this figure is 24%.”

Vaníčková said the awards show it is “possible and necessary to digitalize even in conservative sectors, such as healthcare or public administration. Unlike digitalization in sectors that welcome innovation, work in the aforementioned fields requires extra effort, courage, and perseverance.
